American Statistical Association members report broadly negative impacts of federal budget cuts and workforce reductions on the government’s data collection activities, accompanied by sharp downturns in federal employees’ satisfaction with their jobs, job security and levels of job stress.
These key findings are detailed in reports and a podcast on a survey of ASA members by Langer Research Associates. One report assesses the impacts of federal budget cuts on ASA members and their organizations, as well as workplace conditions more broadly. The other evaluates members’ salaries and other compensation, including by factors such as sector, department, rank and tenure.
In the podcast, we discuss findings with ASA Executive Director Ron Wasserstein and Associate Executive Director Donna LaLonde. See the podcast here and reports here.
