Research Analyst
Research Analysts are involved in every aspect of our assignments, including project design, management, analysis and reporting. Responsibilities include consulting with clients, researching study topics, determining research designs, drafting questionnaires and discussion guides, overseeing field work, specifying and reviewing datasets, analyzing results, writing reports and presenting findings.
The successful candidate will have experience in research design, execution and analysis, including statistical modeling. Clear writing is essential, with a premium on precision, acuity, insight and effective storytelling. Creative thinking and a capacity for highly focused, accurate work, often on deadline, are required. Spanish fluency is a plus. Social scientists from a range of disciplines, as well as experienced practitioners, have succeeded in this position.
Qualifications – Research Analyst
- Ph.D. or MA/MS in a social science discipline, statistics or a related field, or commensurate experience
- 3-5 years’ experience designing, managing and conducting surveys in applied and/or academic settings
- Demonstrated ability to write analytical reports in English for non-technical audiences
- Expertise in survey design and data analysis; willingness and capacity to learn new research strategies and methodologies as needed
- Fluency in statistical packages such as SPSS and R
- Management experience across the project lifecycle
- Ability to prioritize tasks while contributing to multiple concurrent projects
- Leadership ability while working in a collaborative environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
The Research Analyst position offers an expected U.S.-based compensation range of $86,000 to $92,000, including a base salary of $72,000 to $77,000 and a performance-based discretionary bonus of $14,000 to $15,000, as well as a 5% 401(k) contribution, a choice of health insurance options and other employee benefits.
Research Associate
Research Associates play a strong supporting role in our work, from project development to delivery. Responsibilities include assisting in drafting proposals; conducting pre-field research and developing questionnaires and discussion guides; contributing to data analysis; creating tables, charts and presentations; and reviewing, copy editing and number-checking reports. Spanish fluency is a plus.
Qualifications – Research Associate
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science with a solid quantitative background
- Strong interest in survey research as a career path
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Experience with statistical packages (R or SPSS preferred)
- Ability to work on tight deadlines, including occasional off-hours work
- Ability to problem-solve independently and learn on the job
- Interest or background in coding (any language) and/or web development
The Research Associate position offers an expected U.S.-based compensation range of $72,000 to $76,000, including a base salary of $60,000 to $63,000 plus a performance-based discretionary bonus of $12,000 to $13,000, as well as a 5% 401(k) contribution, a choice of health insurance options and other employee benefits.
